For my Master's dissertation I chose to create an educational game about cleaning up Rivers. I designed this game to be used as a key-stage 2 learning resource for schools to highlight the importance of keeping our rivers clean as well as the importance and overall 'how' of recycling.
River Trash Recycler is a tower defense game, I felt that this genre would pair nicely with the subject matter as trash running down a meandering river is very a kin to tower defense enemies running through a gauntlet.
Not only is River Trash Recycler a tower defense game but there is also a puzzle element to the game. At the end of each level the player is faced with the bonus round. In this Bonus round the player is required to guide their trash to the correct recycling bins, this is where the recycling section of the learning material is taught.
